In this blog we cover how to integrate data from Ivanti to Assets in Jira Service Management.
Ivanti is a leading solution for IT asset management delivering detailed visibility into your organization’s IT assets. Its powerful API capabilities enable seamless integration with external tools, allowing users to extend functionality and automate workflows efficiently. Ivanti API provides extensive endpoints to fetch asset details and other dependent objects.
Using OnLink, you can easily import, map, and manage your Ivanti data in Assets.
Connecting Ivanti with OnLink is straightforward:
You’ll need to configure the API endpoint using Ivanti’s API. Here’s a reference to the Ivanti API documentation: Ivanti API Reference.
After setting up your connection, use the OnLink app from the “Manage your apps” menu to configure field-level mapping. Below is an example of a common mapping configuration:
key:DiscoveryId=ID
map:DisplayName=Display Name
map:OS.Version=OS Version
map:OS.Name=OS config:data_source=/api/apigatewaydataservices/v1/devices
After configuring your data source and mapping, follow these steps:
Navigate to OnLink from the “Manage your apps” menu in Jira.
Run the integration by first clicking Connections > Job Logs.
Click Import and wait for the message: “No pending records. Data will be imported on next Import run.”
Trigger an Import run manually or schedule automated runs for production environments.
Using Ivanti and looking to integrate it with Assets in Jira Service Management, Give OnLink a try.
